Catator opens new R&D laboratory at Lund Headquarters

Catator, a leading technology development and integration partner for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies has inaugurated Catator Labs, a purpose-built R&D laboratory facility at the company's headquarters in The Loop, Lund.

The facility is now partially operational, with full completion expected later this year, and will significantly strengthen Catator's capacity for research, development and customer demonstration.

Helena Svensson, Head of Development at Catator, said: "The launch of Catator Labs provides a dedicated facility for our R&D activities and allows us to separate experimental development from the Catator Test Center, where we focus on factory acceptance testing of our commercial products. We are building an integrated development environment that takes us from early-stage formulation work all the way through to validated, customer-ready performance data, all under one roof at our new headquarters."

Catator Labs is designed as an integrated R&D facility spanning the full development cycle, from catalyst formulation and advanced material characterisation to long-term performance validation under real-world operating conditions.

The facility's preparation laboratory is now fully operational, enabling the development of new catalyst formulations and coating technologies for Catator's CataLite® Coating platform.

Analytical capabilities currently being installed, including gas analysis, surface characterisation and compositional analysis, will give Catator in-house control over the full material development chain, reducing dependence on external laboratories and accelerating development cycles. A dedicated validation environment will enable the company to demonstrate proven, long-term performance of its catalysed hardware directly to customers and partners, bridging the gap between development and commercial deployment.

With Catator Labs operational alongside the existing Catator Test Center, the company now has secured a complete development-to-production infrastructure at its Lund headquarters, positioning Catator to accelerate its technology roadmap and meet growing demand across its target markets.
